Last competition one for the ages

The “America’s Got Talent” season five finale was set to be an epic contest. The last four contestants staged their performances on Tuesday. Michael Grimm is type of the singer/songwriter type, with a very bluesy tinge. Prince Poppycock was something just a little different. An opera singer at heart, however he uses elaborate costumes and stages in an act that manages to fuse Kiss, Lady Gaga, and Paul Revere and also the Raiders. The power of the voice of Jackie Evancho belies her tiny size and scant ten years, and she has been a favored to win for weeks. There was only one act that was not a singer. Fighting Gravity is a dance troupe made up of college students.

Last shows always have a Grimm undercurrent

The voting is just like “American Idol.” Also, viewers have to wait to see the results. Piers Morgan pulled no punches on the finale, as outlined by CBS. He buzzed Prince Poppycock, who had been a crowd favorite all year. In fairness, Prince Poppycock has one act but has different songs. Evancho had the belief that she is only 10 years old on her side. That said, after so many ballads, individuals get bored. That has a lot to do with the outcome. Just a little variety of material is probably why Michael Grimm won “America’s Got Talent.” Singers win this show, as only one of the five winners has not been a singer. Getting a home for his grandparents is what Grimm has in mind for the winnings, according to People.

Legendary duets

Just about everyone paired with a good entertainer for the last show performance. Poppycock performed with Donna Summer, Lionel Ritchie sang “Dancing on the Ceiling” for Fighting Gravity and Grimm performed a duet with Jewel, singing “Me and Bobby McGee.” The finale show was almost the best part of the entire season.
