Top trends from twenty five billion tweets this year listed by Twitter

The prime Twitter trends for 2010 list were unveiled Monday. The topics most Twitter users sought to share with the planet in the past year were lead by the Gulf oil spill. Twitter said its 2010 Trends on Twitter list shows how Twitter has evolved to the leader in connecting the world to emerging trends in real-time. This styles list didn’t essentially make Twitter money and they didn’t need to take out a cash loan to create it.

Top tweets on Twitter

The top Twitter tweets of 2010 contain expected subjects, such as the Gulf oil spill, Bieber and the IPad. you will find eight categories listed, news, people, movies, TV, technology, world cup, sports and hashtags, for the 2010 Trends on Twitter which has the twenty five billion 2010 tweets compiled. After the gulf oil spill, “FIFA Planet Cup” was the runner up as being the overall prime pattern. Even Lady Gaga could not keep Bieber from topping the individuals list. Lady Gaga actually came in 3rd after Dilma Rouseff. Julian Assange was after Lady Gaga. The top of the technology list had the iPad, with no surprise. Also, the movie list had "Inception" at the top. Vuvuzela was at the top of the World Cup list with Paul the Octopus right behind.

Exactly how Twitter trends are decided on

In a Twitter post, the business explained what it does. Novelty is more essential than popularity to Twitter. The way they pick Twitter trends is based off of an algorithm. This is used to check exactly how tweets increase depending on specific topics. This approach is said to identify hot topics as they emerge, instead of simply listing what is most popular. The number of tweets, if it does not accelerate enough, won't make it to Twitter trends although it might show up on Google trends. WikiLeaks was one of these things that happened last week. Many bloggers said Twitter censors trending tweets based off of this. Number seven within the prime 10 trending news tweets in 2010 was "WikiLeaks Cablegate" though.

A lot more Twitter tweets this year

From 2009 to 2010, Twitter tweets went from 8 billion to 25 billion which is more than 200 percent in growth. In 2008, Twitter counted 400 million tweets. There are now about 190 million tweeters which is big since Twitter was founded in 2006. In 2008, trending topics started to be listed by Twitter. Twitter styles were only accessible in a few major United States cities including New York City and Washington D.C. until this year. This year Twitter expanded the service to include tweets from six additional cities and 13 countries.
