Sunday will see release of Verizon 4G

On Dec. 5, Verizon is making a large change to their service offerings. A 4G network will be launched on that day. This fourth-generation network technologies called, LTE, guarantees to offer near-broadband speeds. While the 4G network is out on Sunday, no Verizon phones support it.

Verizon 4G LTE technology

The Verizon 4G network is the company’s 4th generation wireless technology. Sprint Nextel has already released its version of a 4G wireless network, called WiMax. The WiMax 4G and LTE 4G are different from one another. There are common areas both wireless technologies could be used at. These areas are airports and large metropolitan areas. Both technologies require smaller wireless transmission points placed relatively closely together. Download speeds of 12 megabits per second are what Verizon's LTE 4G systems claim. Sprint’s 4G says peak-download speeds of “more than 10 megabits per second.”.

Verizon 4G cell phones coming in January

Though the Verizon 4G LTE systems are rolling out in limited areas, 4G networks are set to replace the current 3G networks fully by about 2013. The biggest issue for Verizon Wireless, though, is its lack of cell phones. The Verizon 4G network will only be used by some cell phones. USB modems are required on these phones. In Jan, many 4G cell phones will be released at the Consumer Electronics Show for Verizon Wireless. There’s a really good network associated with Verizon Wireless. Customers wanting other phones have been lost though.

The cost of Verizon 4G network capacity

It is not free to get the speed on wireless networks that customers continually demand. The 3G networks have been hurt by the Unlimited data plans while the 4G networks are expected to do the same. You will find access limits on the 4G network based on Verizon. Unlimited plans won't exist anymore. The Verizon 4G network won't have them anyway. If you need 5 gigabits per month than it is $50 while 10 gigabits costs $80. A five-gigabit data plan would allow for watching about 200 minutes of YouTube videos and uploading 500 photos to Facebook, plus 1,000 or so web pages.
