Greater than 2 million Microsoft Kinect sales in less than a month

The Nintendo Wii console is usually the first thing that comes to mind when people think of motion-controlled video games. However, things haven’t been the same recently, especially with the recent release of the Microsoft Kinect motion-sensing video game system. Across the nation, parents and kids alike are pouring into retailers looking to get their hands on a Kinect console that promises exciting games and an increased improvement to the Xbox 360 gaming encounter.

Already hit 2.5 million sales of the Kinect

Microsoft made an announcement Monday that 2.5 million Kinects have already been sold just after 25 days of launching it. This had been over Black Friday weekend. A total of 5 million is what the company plans on selling. This is just over the holidays.

“We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect,” said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft, “and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand.”

More than 60,000 stores in 38 countries sell the Kinect.

What the Microsoft Kinect does

There is no need for hand controllers with the Microsoft Kinect. With the Kinect system, you can turn your Xbox 360 into a voice-activated console. But it does way more than just that. Along with voice activation, the console comes with video capturing and facial recognition. It could be used to select TV implies that you like. Even digital artwork can be done on it. You are likely to love the Kinect console a ton if you love the Xbox Live too. Using the cameras and microphones, you are able to have a webcam-like chat with multiple friends at once, enhancing the Xbox Live experience.

Reviews and sales for Kinect looking good

Since your body is the controller which is unlike the Wii and PlayStation Move, the Microsoft Kinect is loved by people. The next big thing in video games is likely to be motion-sensing consoles. This is shown within the fact the Kinect has sold like hotcakes when reviews are amazing.
