If you don’t want a traffic ticket, the first step is not getting stopped. Avoiding a police offer’s gaze, though, isn’t always easy. There are a couple of things you are able to do to help ensure that your auto is not the one the police notice.
Follow driving laws
It may seem to be a no-brainer, but first and foremost, do as little law-breaking as possible. Follow the speed limit, come to full stops, and be nice to pedestrians. Staying incognito starts with driving defensively.
Pick your auto with care
While urban legend is that certain colors of vehicles get ticketed more or less often, very few studies are done one way or another. There are, however, certain makes and models of vehicles that get ticketed more. If you do have a choice about what you drive, keep away from one of the most ticketed vehicles.
Don’t make an effort to be leader of the pack
If you’re a part of the pack, you are much less likely to be noticed by the cops. If you’re on the freeway, drive at about the exact same speed as many of the other vehicles on the road.
Keep with the large trucks
Sure, they seem large and scary, but trucks on the road are your friends. Not only does driving next to or behind them help improve your miles per gallon, the drivers of big rigs often have a better view of what is going on. Avoid a ticket by slowing down when the big rigs do.
Make sure the little things get fixed
Damage to your vehicle makes it stand out, no matter where you are driving. A cracked windshield gives an officer a legitimate reason to pull you over. Keep away from the stress, cost, and difficulties in the future by fixing those small things now.
